Just saw this posted to HMAUS-L (Hawaii Macintosh & Apple Users’ Society). Note that the original post listed July 28th as the date, which was subsequently corrected to July 30, 2008.

============================================================

I want to give you a heads up on this event.

It will be Wens. July 30th at 6:30 PM once again at the WIFI area in the front section of the Kapahulu Safeway Store. (888 Kapahulu Ave, Honolulu, HI 96816 Map)

There is plenty of parking, even a second floor. The company is good and food is available. We help Mac owners with problems at no charge. All kinds of problems show up with people bringing in their Macs. for help. Everytime I attend I learn something and several times I have been able to help others. It is a good experience and it is nice to meet new people and see old friends. Put it in your iCal now and we’ll see you there.

@hawaii (a.k.a. Ryan Ozawa) just tweeted Seesmic meetup Aloha Marketplace Tuesday July 29. Reproduced below”

Tweet-Up! Seesmic’s @sukhjit is in town, wants to meet local geeks. Let’s talkstory at Aloha Tower food court at 5p.m. tomorrow. Pass it on!

I also just saw the Bytemarks mailing list Seesmic Meetup July 29th post. Seesmic Meetup excerpt reproduced below:

It’s a great week for social geeks!

Anyone here play with Seesmic? Shorthand described as a ‘video
Twitter,’ with shortform threaded video conversations, but also a
platform that’s being integrated into blogs and other websites to
allow people to leave video comments on posts. In any case, Ms.
Sukhjit, one of the Seesmic crew is in Honolulu and wants to meet up
with local geeks. She leaves on Wednesday so a pau-hana gathering
tomorrow is the plan.

Come down to Aloha Tower Marketplace food court at 5 p.m. Open,
casual, family/kid friendly. Talkstory with Sukhjit and other web
heads. Here’s more on Seesmic. Here’s Sukhjit’s Twitter stream

Just realized I forgot to post this last week. Short notice, but a fun event if you can make it, found via July 23, 2008 Coworking/Jelly Group on TechHui

==============================================

ime: July 23, 2008 from 8am to 12pm
Location: Cafe Jupiter
Address: 1601 Kapiolani Blvd Ste 150 Honolulu, HI 96814 (Map)

Just to switch it up a bit, trying out a new place next week Wednesday: Jupiter Cafe.

It’s just across Kaheka street from Shokudo Restaurant. The cafe, under new ownership and now providing FREE WIFI, is beautifully decorated with padded seats, conveniently located power outlets, great A/C (not too cold, not stuffy, just right). They have sandwiches for lunch.

Parking is easiest on the basement level parking at Ala Moana.

Truman Leung on TechHui just contacted me regarding this Jelly Coworking Group Event on TechHui

Time: July 16, 2008 from 8am to 12pm
Location: Tropical Smoothie Cafe (Map
Organized By: Truman Leung

We had a great meeting a couple days ago. I got to meet Sid, currently doing software development for a mainland company remotely while living here in town. It was also great to spend time with TechHui founders, Dan and Mika Leuck. Thanks so much for creating TechHui. It’s been a wonderful resource.

Hope you can make the next Coworking group. I’m adding the name “Jelly” to the group. It seems that the term “coworking” can range from a situation as formal as dedicated office space where you can rent a desk to an informal gathering of independents to work together at a cafe. However, a Jelly seems definitely a more on the casual end of the spectrum. So I’ll add the name “Jelly” to our group so people can understand at a glance that this is a group where you can drop in whenever you like and not have to pay for a desk.

If you can make it to our next meeting, please add a comment about what you’ll be working on while at the Jelly.

Thanks again to Teddy Wells, owner of the Tropical Smoothie Cafe here in Honolulu, for hosting the group and providing free wifi internet access.
