London Stock Exchange - The Alternative Investment Market

Learn all about going public on the London Stock Exchange AIM program at this special event presented by the Hawaii Venture Capital Association in conjunction with the UK Trade Investment Office of the British Consul General and sponsored by Enterprise Honolulu.

Our speakers are John Nuttal and David Kent, two legal practitioners with vast experience taking companies public on AIM. Debra Guerin, a principal with invencor, inc., a California venture fund, will also talk about her firm’s experience taking one of their portfolio companies public on the London Stock Exchange.

John Nuttall has over 12 years of corporate finance and equity analysis expertise at Panmure Gordon and Investec, focused on the small and mid cap space. He has executed numerous AIM IPO’s in the industrial and intellectual property sectors and has consistently been a top ranked analyst by both the CFO and Fund Management community. John co-founded First Columbus in 2006, which has been specifically set u p to advise and invest in small and mid size US and international companies seeking to raise capital in London.

David is a partner of the European law firm Taylor Wessing leading a team of 42 lawyers specialising in advising emerging growth and listed companies from the US, Canada, Europe, Australasia, China, Taiwan and Japan. David’s team has been estimated as currently advising around 1/6 of all inbound work from North America to the UK (around 250 new US clients each year). This practice is considered to be the leading practice of UK lawyers advising North American companies in the UK. David’s clients include companies in the capital markets, manufacturing and service areas, as well as technology companies involved in the internet, software, hardware, telecoms and life sciences areas. avid and his team act as and when required as General Counsel for Europe and through its five German offices, its French and Belgian offices, club memberships and other close relat ionships, Taylor Wessing provides a pan-European service to its clients.
