The Hawaii All-Geek Meetup and Potluck is scheduled for Sunday, April 20, 2008. Bring your family, your friends, and your toys. Bring some food and an appetite for good grinds and great conversation.

What is the Hawaii Geek Meet? Better to ask what it isn’t! Read all about it.

Where and when is it happening? Magic Island, at Ala Moana Beach Park, Picnic Area #40 [Map] from 10 a.m. until… whenever!

Afraid you’re going to be the only {x} person there? Check out some of the groups that are joining us.

Curious about who will be there? Check out the list of participants.

Can you bring something? Want to check out the menu? Take a look at the potluck page.

Have questions about how all this will come to pass? We do too! Check out the questions page.

Please RSVP A.S.A.P. by simply replying and letting me know if you can make it. Also, if you can provide a canopy tent, table, or large cooler, that would be great, as well.

Manoa Geeks makes up the majority of this event, so I hope you can make it. If you have already registered with someone else, that’s fine, and if you want to pass the word on to someone that may have been over-looked, please feel free.

Thanks, and have a great weekend!

Kara

7 pm, MIC conference room, second floor.

Topic
This week’s topic will be hybrid web/desktop applications. We will
discuss the advantages and disadvantages of hybrid apps as compared to
pure web or desktop applications. Daniel Leuck of Ikayzo will present
some simple examples to get us started.

About GUI Meetup
GUI Meetup is a forum for discussion of GUIs, usability and related
topics. We begin meetings with a short presentation and follow up
with a show and tell session for attendees’ current projects. Other
members provide feedback in areas such as design and usability.
Attendees are not required to present, but we hope everyone will
contribute to the conversation. We try to keep topics on the soft
side of business and design, and away from purely technical
discussions.

We expect to have around 10-15 people to allow for the benefits of
small group conversation. Please RSVP to Dan Leuck at dan [at] ikayzo
[dot] com so we can track the headcount.
